SYNOPSIS

Discourses for the End is an online experimental film. It is made up of 17 fixed planes of 24/7 scientific observation cameras which are located in different parts of the world.
Over the images there are texts from Hollywood blockbusters, displaying speeches from presidents of the United States of America announcing to the world the imminent destruction of civilization.
As Slavoj Žižek states, “look at the movies that we see all the time. It’s easy to imagine the end of the world. An asteroid destroying all life and so on. But you cannot imagine the end of capitalism.”

SINOPSIS:
Discursos para el Final de los Tiempos es un película experimental en línea. Formada por 17 planos fijos de cámaras de observación científica 24/7, localizadas en diferentes partes del mundo. Sobre las imágenes se muestran textos extraídos de superproducciones cinematográficas, aquellos discursos donde los presidentes de los Estados Unidos de América anuncian al mundo la posible e inminente destrucción de la civilización. Como dice Slavoj Žižek, “Fijaos en las películas que vemos todo el tempo. Es fácil imaginar el fin del Mundo. Un asteroide destruye toda la vida y así sucesivamente. Pero no podemos imaginar el fin del capitalismo.”
